My car hisses and sometimes stops. I am told that I have an air hose off. I need to reconnect this air hose, obviously. Well, I have a Haynes Repair Manual, but it doesn't SHOW me where the hose will be, it just says reconnect it. If I could find it, I would. Look at the under side of the hood. There should be a routing diagram of the vacuum hoses there and the components they attach to. These would be the vacuum hoses under the hood only.
However you may have a vacuum hose disconnected for your ac or heating system in the dash controls or a bad directional switch that controls the defrost, dash vent, heater air. If you turn your ac on and then shut the engine off see if you can hear hissing coming from that location and badda bing badda boom theres your leak and its location. If not turn the car off with the hood open then get out of the car to see if you can hear it under the hood and where its coming from.Problem with a 1999 Ford Contour?

2009 Toyota Tacoma V6 Timing Chain Alignment?
Can anybody provide an explanation on how to do the alignment for the timing chain on a 2009 Toyota Tacoma V6? I have the Haynes Repair Manual for 2005-2009 but the explanation it gives is not working on my car. If anyone could help I would appreciate it. Thank you2009 Toyota Tacoma V6 Timing Chain Alignment?
First of all your vehicle should be under warranty by the dealer, call and find out, 2nd timing chain should last a long time, really no way to adjust or align it You replace it. But your vehicle is too new to have a problem with the timing chain. Try to find a shop that can look up a technical l bulletin on this problem. Most of the time the consumer does not know about recalls on this kind of thing.

Where is my canister purge valve?
I drive a 1996 Buick regal custom 3.8L. The other day my service engine light came on so I took the vehicle to Auto Zone and had them read the code. The code was p0441: emission control system incorrect purge flow. The guy ordered me a new canister purge valve, but I can not find where the little ****** is in my car. I bought a haynes repair manual for my model vehicle and it said that for some model cars the valve is in the canister itself, but it just doesn't seem like it could fit. I know that the canister is in the rear of the car, behind the left tire, but I don't know where this valve is, any help would be appreciated. *this isn't the same as the purge solenoid mounted near the intake manifold*Where is my canister purge valve?
If I remember correctly, the part he sold you is actually a solenoid and it is on the back side of the engine. Not very easy to get to. It is in about the same area as the plug wires on the rear cylinder head. Where is my canister purge valve?
yes the purge valve is the same thing as the purge solenoid mounted by the intake or the rear head, either the purge valve is not what they ordered you or they got you the wrong part, the other valve that could have set the code would be the evap vent valve, that one is located by the canister, of course the canister itself, any of the vacuum lines connecting it all, the air filter for the vent valve could all also be at fault either way you really should take that to someone who actually know how to diagnose the system rather than someone trying to sell you parts

Does my 2006 5.3L Silverado have an EGR valve?
I am trying to tune up my truck and can't seem to find the EGR valve. The Haynes repair manual that i'm using shows it to be right in front of the oil fill tube, but there is nothing there. I also cannot seem to find any online parts stores that sell an EGR valve for a 2005 or 2006 Silverado. So what I'm asking is, do I have an EGR valve on my truck? Yes it does have an e.g.r. valve . At the throttle body there is a metal tube going in just behind it . Follow that down to the valve .Does my 2006 5.3L Silverado have an EGR valve?

Where can I find a repair manual for a 2004 Mazda RX8?
Basically I'm looking for something like the Haynes or Shelton books. I've heard about AllData, but honestly I know somewhere there is a pdf for free;)) But, I would purchase a book, if one exists...which it has to....but it'd have to be pretty thorough like Haynes. At this moment, I really just need the kind of info that can show me where the power steering connectors are located. Seems simple enough, but the damn steering goes out and it takes me a day to get it to the dealership, and they "fix it" aka, clean the connections. try google, yahoo, Jegs, or bing, search engines. Try you local auto parts stores. If nothing else and trust me last result try Mazda. I have been told before that if they made the car then their is a book out there for it.
