I have heard that the US military without oil would be on its knees in two weeks. If this is true i would like to use it in a debate, and i need to have a source to cite for it. Any help would be appreciated. How long would the military last if it were cut off from oil?It would last long enough to get to Venezuella or where other oil is. To the other posters...
The same is true for any other nation without oil.
Saddam had plenty of oil and he invaded kuwait to help pay for the Iraq-Iran war.How long would the military last if it were cut off from oil?
That would be true of ANY military force in the world. It is interesting that someone specified the US military...hmmmm.How long would the military last if it were cut off from oil?We have a strategic petrolium reserve which can run the whole country for about 6 months, although not at full capacity.
So, it all depends on where the military was fighting and how you were 'cutting' them off. If they couldn't receive shipments, even from the US mainland, then that would be a problem. However, given the US military's dominance in the world today, that's far from a concern.
The first poster is correct.
Also, you need to consider our nuclear powered ships and submarines which are capable of firing all sorts of missles. Not to mention our land-based strategic weapons (MIRVed ICBMs for example). How long would the military last if it were cut off from oil?Actually we would be on our feet. If our trucks/tanks stop we might not be as effective as we were, but even on the ground we are a formidible fighting force. Slower and less powerful? Yes. On our knees and out of the fight? Never. How long would the military last if it were cut off from oil?
Well, our troops wouldn't have any transportation. So the military will be drastically crippled. We would have no tanks, aviation vehicles, or land vehicles.
it really depends on where. i do know that the M1A1 Abrams main battle tank can run on any liquid combustable, even kerosene. How long would the military last if it were cut off from oil?
As usual the military is ahead of the civilians. They can run on vegetable oil.
what do you think the national oil reserve is for? not for your car

What is the best military branch for a female?
I am a 25 year old female. I'm college educated and willing to bust my ***. I decided to join the military and am currently focusing on the Army, however I know each branch has its own uniqueness. I was wondering, which one is best for a female, or are they all pretty much the same?
I have always loved the Navy, but I figured the Army was the best spot. What would you suggest? What is the best military branch for a female?i would say the NavyWhat is the best military branch for a female?
Ok,Im gonna give you a completely honest answer,If the US military is anything like the british.
Army- Generally hard headed women. Some have balls bigger than me,and more dont want to be there
Navy- Sluts
Air force- Generally polite and well educated.
Crude i know but thats the truth of it.Go air force, better housing, better food, and the officers treat you like a human being.Ask anyone with a few years service, they'll say the sameWhat is the best military branch for a female? It really depends on you. As far as being female, I guess it is all the same. You have to decide what type of work you want to do and what types of assignments that both branches offer.
I choose Navy because I like to travel and I don't mind going to sea. I love being near water and would spend many off duty hours at the beach.
What do you like about the Army? Do they offer you a job that you like? Is there duty stations that they go that interest you?
Do you like water? Would being on a ship bother you?
Ask yourself what is it that you want to do...and it doesn't matter if you are male or female, you will still be expected to do your job. What is the best military branch for a female?
It all depends totally on what you want to do. Communications, logistics, artillery, infantry ...??
I wouldn't say there's one particular regiment what's best for females its all about you and what you want!!What is the best military branch for a female?navy equals coastal living, army trends toward middle of the country. All services are male dominated so deal with it and do well.Fight it and you'll lose. What is the best military branch for a female?

What happens if you are in the military and your spouse does illegal drugs?
there is an outstanding individual I have. He is excellent in work, and is destined to be a great leader. His fiance smokes marijuana. What (if anything) can happen to the person in the military if something happens (like he gets married, and then his wife is caught doing the drugs by authority). Well this affect his career in the military? What happens if you are in the military and your spouse does illegal drugs?Depends, if shes caught on post, yes it will effect him.
If he lets it in his house, he is responsible for it.
If its off base, again, if its in his house, he is responsible for it.
BAH pays for the service members housing, not the spouses housing.
So he is responsible for whats in his house.
If shes caught out somewhere else, then it won't effect him at all, unless he is there to.
IE: he cannot be in a car with someone smoking a joint and say, I didn't do anything illegal. What happens if you are in the military and your spouse does illegal drugs?
Well, first I would try to be a great husband and help her in any way I can to make her stop, it can kill and cause pain to say the least.
If that fails, I would leave her. It's not worth it. It will make her think about it more and hopefully get off of it.
But it doesn't affect you, it's a totally different person, as long as you didn't influence her decision or supplied her with drugs, it won't involve youWhat happens if you are in the military and your spouse does illegal drugs?Maybe his grandma does it too.
If she is jailed or is selling drugs it might be an issue but just as long as he is clean and can pass his random UA's then he is fine...What happens if you are in the military and your spouse does illegal drugs?if she is caught off the installation by civilian authority's it should not effect his career besides word of mouth and the rumor mill. if she is caught on the installation either while they are still engaged or married, he will be held responsible because he got her on base and acts as her "sponsor". once they are on the installation he will be held responsible for all her actions whether it be shoplifting at the px or using drugs. if that happens, it will effect his career. What happens if you are in the military and your spouse does illegal drugs?
Absolutely will impact his Military Career...
Just by her smoking it...he will absorb it also...
(He will be getting a second hand High...)
Then if having to have a Pee Test he will show
up positive...OTH Discharge...
He needs to find another GF that isn't a Drug Addict...
MJ is a gateway drug that WILL lead to
harder and harder Drugs...
She will Bankrupt and take him to the bottom...
then still say she doesn't have a problem...
If she is using MJ she has a problem...
It depends on the situation. If the couple were living on base/post and the spouse was found with the substance coming onto/off base or in a search of any type, then yes, it would definitely affect that person's career!
If a problem arises where the person using the substance is causing financial or legal issues because of the problem, then that will also cause problems for the military member.
So overall, yes, it really would cause problems for that person in the end and the problem would need to be taken care of.What happens if you are in the military and your spouse does illegal drugs?
She needs to consider his career and quit the dope smoking or kick rocks. If he is around her it will eventually come up positive on a UA.

How can I advertise a jewelery party in my home to military women and wives?
I am new on base and I am starting my own business selling jewelery. The jewelery is beautiful and affordable and with an unconditional guarentee its undestructable. I dont know but 2 woman on this military base and want to appeal to them by my business. I have thought of going door to door handing out flyers. Would this be affective? How can I advertise a jewelery party in my home to military women and wives?Maybe put the flyers in base housing areas, and perhaps see if you can run an ad in the base paper. If you actually live on base, it won't take you long to meet a whole bunch of women. Oh, and try the gym(s) too. Good luckHow can I advertise a jewelery party in my home to military women and wives?i think your idea is good, if you live in the base itself it will be much easier for you to get to know them. It takes time, but this party would be a great thing to get to know your neighbours and become friends. Also those ladies that you do know..tell them about it and tell them to invite their military friends..and the word will get around. How can I advertise a jewelery party in my home to military women and wives?Sounds like fun! One thing I want to point out though, some military bases require that you get a permit to be able to sell on post, yes even from your home on post. I know because I myself own a small business and had to go through all of that with the military. My business works with finding new customers too, except it's easier for me because my product is well known and carries a name for itself. Also, it's consumable. So when it's all gone, through satisfaction, loyalty and a love for the product I generate re-orders AND LOTS of word-of-mouth recommendation. With jewelry it's a bit different. Make sure you look into that aspect of your business and I wish you all the best! Take care!
Can you join the military if you have a criminal record of eluding a police officer in a vehicle?
I know some records can be waived, but if you have this particular criminal record, would you still be able to join the military? Army is mainly what my friend is looking to join. Can you join the military if you have a criminal record of eluding a police officer in a vehicle?it all depends on your record honestly - more specifically, the 'level' of the charge, and how long of a history you have. if it was a FELONY - you're done, don't waste the recruiter's time. if it was a ONE TIME offense and a misdemeanor, then you might be OK as long as you disclose it to the recruiter.
the army recruiter's will have a manual telling them what they need a waiver for, and what they do not need a waiver for. for example, the manual MAY say "no more than 3 moving violations in a 3 year period does not require a waiver" - meaning if there are 3 or less, the recruiter doesn't need to request a waiver. but if you have 4, then he does. it all depends on the 'level' of your crime.
just to forewarn you - waivers - even for the army - are not easy to come by these days. there are just too many recruits trying to get in that DON'T need the waivers to get in.
good luckCan you join the military if you have a criminal record of eluding a police officer in a vehicle?
For enlistment in the Army misdemeanor convictions that are not drug related can be waived. Felony convictions and misdemeanor drug convictions cannot be waived. Also, no matter what level the charge is you can't enlist until it's completely closed out. So if the charge is still pending a court date, if he is on probation or community service, or if he has a fine still due to the court he can't join right now no matter how minor the charge is.Can you join the military if you have a criminal record of eluding a police officer in a vehicle?I am pretty sure he can get a waiver if he was not drunk while doing so. If he's done his time or off probation while going to enlist. Going to join the army can NOT get him away from his punishment with the police.
So as long as he pays his time/money to the cops for what he has done, gets off the probation or whatever he gets put on if he's out of jail and he does not get in any more trouble [and if this is the first time] there is a strong chance he can join.
Also, depends what he was eluding them for.Can you join the military if you have a criminal record of eluding a police officer in a vehicle?

How would Japan gain military superiority over the Russian Empire in the Russo-Japanese War?
What gave the Japanese the ability to achieve military superiority over the naval and army forces of the Russia during the Russo-Japanese War?How would Japan gain military superiority over the Russian Empire in the Russo-Japanese War?MUCH stronger and newer warships.
Better lines of communication and shorter lines of supply (the Siberian railroad was a single track for long streaches)
The Japanese were also MUCH better lead. How would Japan gain military superiority over the Russian Empire in the Russo-Japanese War?Newer, but not stronger warships. Japan relied on small torpedo boats that were easy to maneuver and were able to sink the obsolete (technologically old) Russian fleet in the area. However Japan did NOT have army superiority in Russia. Japan was beaten back several times by Siberian troops equipped with better tanks at the Russo-Japanese border.word twist english to arabic translation
