My haynes repair manual said nothing about the speedometer or speedometer cable. It's a 1995 mazda protege. My turn signals went out, and I replaced a fuse then the speedmeter went out. I don't see how these things could be related, but I'm just saying. Any input would be appreciated, thanks!Why doesn't my speedometer/odometer work?
It is a mechanical cable that model. Your Haynes should have the place the speedometer cable hooks to in the transmission section. Somewhere near the tail housing. It has nothing to do with turn signal wiring. You just have a very old car that wasn't the highest quality vehicle in the world when it was new.
