93 honda accord, first time changin the oil pan, according to the Haynes Repair Manual, i did everything correct, after puttin oil in it an go to start it up the engine makes a ticking noise, like as if a rod is makin the noise, never did have the noise before the oil pan change. an the ticking noise is on an offWhy does engine tick after doing an oil pan replacement?
Possibly something with the oil pump. Do you have an oil pressure gauge? If you are at too low of pressure, it will tick and knock. If its the oil pump, your engine has about 5 miles to liveWhy does engine tick after doing an oil pan replacement?
When was the last time you've adjusted the valve? it may just need valve adjustment, having a new oil pan just made the sound worse. I would least take off the valve cover, and measure a cylinder valve gap to make sure they are in spec.Why does engine tick after doing an oil pan replacement?
You sure you put the oil plug back in, changed the oil filter and tightened on right, and put the cap back on?
