How do you replace the fuel pump regulator on '99 chevy pickup (old body style) 350 engine?

I have started %26amp; got most of it off the top intake. but cant get the top of intake to come off the fuel injection.do I have to take the two fuel lines off, as the distributor is in the way. what am I doing wrong? I have a haynes repair manual but its not that clear on this subject...any help would be nice. thanksHow do you replace the fuel pump regulator on '99 chevy pickup (old body style) 350 engine?
NO NO NO don"t touch the distributor, you don't need to take it out,

But you do need to remove the two fuel lines going to the injector block. The upper plenum WILL clear the distributor.

Once you remove the lines, pry a little on the plenum, it will come out, inside is the regulator.How do you replace the fuel pump regulator on '99 chevy pickup (old body style) 350 engine?
theres the problem.... the distributor--take it out.. you should be done or at least real close...
