no you don't have to use different fasteners on it you just got to make sure all the old gasket is off it and that the cover isn't bent any on it,sometimes they can be a real pain to get to stop leaking,i can probably tell you where its leaking from the back corners of it,lay the valve cover out on a flat table and look for large gaps under it that might indicate its warped or got damaged during removal, you can get it to stop leaking but you have to use high temp red silicone on it in order for it to seal up right, and don't over torque it,that's the biggest mistake i see in people that do this is they tighten them down to much and bust the new gasket material, good luck with it.
your welcome, i see your finally getting that one ready for winter, its not long off, good luck with it.

Is there a kit with gasket and fasteners for a DODGE 318?You might want to remove the valve cover and check the bolt holes for "deformation", being over tightened and distorting the mounting surface of the valve cover where it contacts the valve cover gasket.
It happens a lot of times when someone tightens the valve cover bolts to try and stop a leaking valve cover gasket rather than replace the old gasket, the bolt hole becomes "lower" than the contact surface for the valve cover gasket.
This applies to stock stamped steel valve covers, I've never owned any others so I can't tell you if chrome covers would be more prone to leakage.
no i dont think so.. if you put chrome valve covers on you would need to take some emery cloth or sand paper and where there gasket meets sand it so it seals otherwise just pull your covers off and make sure they fit corectlyIs there a kit with gasket and fasteners for a DODGE 318?
Make sure the covers are not bent or distorted on the flange, and that there is no old gasket stuff stuck on there.
