I have 2 1984 Suzuki gs 125 bikes that need taking apart and (hopefully) making good one machine from them. I do not know the difference between a Haynes owners workshop manual and a service repair manual, if any, but would need a comprehensive detailed book because to date my knowkedge is limited to basic maintainance. What's the difference between a Haynes owners workshop manual %26amp; a service repair manual?
Buy a Haynes if you're planning to do that kind of work on a bike. Haynes is complete tear-down, repair or replace pretty much anything and everything bumper to bumper.
A service manual will tell you the proper maintenance schedule, among other things, but is basically a owners manual.
Haynes manual explains how to repair it. While a service manual tells you the fluid specifications and how often maintenance should be performed. What's the difference between a Haynes owners workshop manual %26amp; a service repair manual?
workshop manual will be more indept for major repairs.
One tells you how to look after it (owners) the other to repair, rebuild, etc. What's the difference between a Haynes owners workshop manual %26amp; a service repair manual?
Haynes cost more cash.
When I work in the motorcycle trade many years ago the Suzuki manufacturers repair manuals were always printed in English from a Japanese translation hence some misleading descriptions, the Haynes manuals are written and printed in Somerset and generally they are quite good.
In my experience a Haynes manual tells you how to do it, a service repair manual, normally published by the manufacturer, just tells you to do it, not how, as they are primarily aimed at the trade.
