What are the benefits of having a degree and joining the military?

I am a post graduate with two Bachlor's degrees and married. What benefits would I recieve if I join the military (National Guard). Also how long is training? What are the benefits of having a degree and joining the military? If you have two Bachelor degrees you should look at becoming an officer. If you want to go the enlisted route you can come in has an E4.

Benefits are very limited in the NG unless activated for more than 30 days.

Basic is 9 weeks give or take a week of reception. Your MOS will determine how long you are in AIT/OSUT. You will received active duty pay, get separation pay and BAH during your basic and AIT. After you come back you just get normal drill pay. What are the benefits of having a degree and joining the military?Training is called BCT or Basic Combat Training. It is 9 weeks long with one processing week. It is beneficial to have a degree because you can be promoted at a faster rate and (don't quote me on this) you can get benefits when you enlist (or become an officer). It is also very helpful after your career in the NG. Employers will see that you have educational experience and all of the terrific traits of being a soldier.

P.S. After Basic and you are done with training, your spouse/family will get benefits.

Good luck!
