I know some records can be waived, but if you have this particular criminal record, would you still be able to join the military? Army is mainly what my friend is looking to join.Can you join the military if you have a criminal record of eluding a police officer in a vehicle?it all depends on your record honestly - more specifically, the 'level' of the charge, and how long of a history you have. if it was a FELONY - you're done, don't waste the recruiter's time. if it was a ONE TIME offense and a misdemeanor, then you might be OK as long as you disclose it to the recruiter.



the army recruiter's will have a manual telling them what they need a waiver for, and what they do not need a waiver for. for example, the manual MAY say "no more than 3 moving violations in a 3 year period does not require a waiver" - meaning if there are 3 or less, the recruiter doesn't need to request a waiver. but if you have 4, then he does. it all depends on the 'level' of your crime.



just to forewarn you - waivers - even for the army - are not easy to come by these days. there are just too many recruits trying to get in that DON'T need the waivers to get in.

For enlistment in the Army misdemeanor convictions that are not drug related can be waived. Felony convictions and misdemeanor drug convictions cannot be waived. Also, no matter what level the charge is you can't enlist until it's completely closed out. So if the charge is still pending a court date, if he is on probation or community service, or if he has a fine still due to the court he can't join right now no matter how minor the charge is.Can you join the military if you have a criminal record of eluding a police officer in a vehicle?I am pretty sure he can get a waiver if he was not drunk while doing so. If he's done his time or off probation while going to enlist. Going to join the army can NOT get him away from his punishment with the police.



So as long as he pays his time/money to the cops for what he has done, gets off the probation or whatever he gets put on if he's out of jail and he does not get in any more trouble [and if this is the first time] there is a strong chance he can join.
