I pumped some off road fuel through a contaminated pump into my 2005 Duramax Deisel. What can I do to correct?

It has been running rough and I have had to use ether to get it started. I pumped out most of the contaminated fuel, dumped the fuel filter, and added some fresh fuel. Still having a problem though. It won't go past 2000 RPM and there is a check engine light on. Onstar said that the fault was "low fuel rail pressure". I also need to find a good repair manual for this truck, Haynes doesn't make one for the 3500 Duramax Diesel.I pumped some off road fuel through a contaminated pump into my 2005 Duramax Deisel. Syphon out the tank, drain your fuel lines, replace your fuel filter and bleed off the fuel rail. Then Filler up with some good stuff
If you bought that fuel at a gas station, then they are liable for any and all repairs to your vehicle!!!! Sounds like the fuel pump was damaged due to the contamination!I pumped some off road fuel through a contaminated pump into my 2005 Duramax Deisel. What can I do to correct?
Just change the Primary and Secondary fuel filters, it will be fine !!!! You can do this yourself ! Try Chilton auto repair manual. Good luck ! OMG !! Don't ever use ether on this engine !!!!!!!!!!
Hi! Sounds like the fuel was already contaminated before it went through the pump. Only you know where it came from. Was there water in it, and dirt? You say you "dumped" the fuel filter. Not good enough. you'll have to replace it. Using ether on a dry engine is extremely harmful. Once you get it running, crack the injector lines at the pump, and visually check the pressure. Then , crack each injector, see if there;s air in the rail. In similar situations, in the bush, I have replaced the fuel filter at least twice. It can be an expensive lesson to learn. Yikes. You want to get rid of all the contaminated fuel for two reasons: first it's contaminated, and second off-road fel is dyed. That dye is very strong and hard to get rid of, and if any is found in your tank you're in serious legal trouble for tax evasion.

Agreed you'll want to replace the fuel filter.

For a good manual, look for factory shop manuals. It's hard finding manuals for newer cars.

Don't use ether on such a new engine ever.
