My mom brings by her van every now and than when something go wrong, she said her van has been shifting hard so i said i would see what i can do. Shes owned the van since 03 and from what i can tell the fluid in the transmission is most likely original, its grey!. Anyways according to the haynes repair manual and from what i can find online its 9.1 quarts for a filter change? that seems like way to much considering i only got 5 quarts out of it when i dropped the pan. How much am i suppose to put in?
Van info

thx for your helpHow much fluid do i put in on a transmission filter change 2000 dodge caravan?
The capacity that the manual uses is including the torque converter . If you do not drain the torque converter it will require less oil to top the tranny. When you complete the change , drive the vehicle at highway speed for a half an hour and re-check the fluid level of the tranny (engine running and in park) also, the level may have been down before you drained it.How much fluid do i put in on a transmission filter change 2000 dodge caravan?
