Lower intake manifold leaking?

i have a 98 olds bravada with the 4.3 engine 4 wheel dr.n found out the lower intake manifold gasket is leaking. it hasnt leaked in2 the engine. oil has been checked no signs of it getting in there,n radiator is still full so my guess is it just started. i checked under and i c small drips 2 the left of the oil pan. freeze plugs r ok checked those and the water pump is ok, hoses r also in good shape. now my ? is where is the lower intake manifold gasket located, i want 2do the repair myself,i have the haynes manual but its pretty vague on the instructions n no real good pic. is there a site i can go 2,2 c the entire engine out of the car with better instuctions. i ve dun some work on cars n trucks but never done anything like this. thinking about a shop but most r very expensive n im working with limited funds(laid off from work) so if any1 can help with pointers a web site with gd pics will be appreciated. i live in chicago so if any1can help wit a fair pricing shop will help.thanksLower intake manifold leaking?
you are right, there is an upper intake gasket and a lower gasket, the lower gasket is the one where the fuel injection manifold bolts to the heads, you have to take the intake manifold completely off to do the job.Lower intake manifold leaking?
I think you have your details mixed up. Intake manifold leaking into the engine and no signs of it leaking to the oil? Lower intake manifold? If there is a lower manifold it means there is an upper one as well?

The intake manifold is the part that bolts to the engine's cylinder head, it is connected to the air-cleaner, on older vehicles the carburettor sits on-top of it. On Fuel injected vehicles the injectors sometimes are located in it as well.

A manifold gasket will be located between the manifold and the cylinder-head.

Are you sure you are talking about the manifold?
