I recently blew the head gaskets on a 1997 ford expedition and instead of taking it to a shop and paying 1400 i'm replacing them myself so i've already taken everything out and about to remove both timing chains but in the haynes repair manual it says i need a camshaft positioning tool so i went to autozone and they did not have one so i was wondering #1 if the tool is that important and #2 what can i use instead of it if it is importantCamshaft positioning tool substitute?
Yes... It is very important that the cam be timed properly.. If you have never done it I suggest you find someone who has to help you so that you get it right the 1st time...Camshaft positioning tool substitute?
Nothing. Have the Ford towed to an auto repair shop to have it done correctly.
