Heater core issues on my 88 grand am.?

my heater hoses were plugged up due to a leek,,, now I actually need my heater and im having some problems... When i hook up both heather hoses to the engine and firewall and put coolannt in the engine it leaks out through a small piece of rubber also coming out of the fire wall. it does this with out even turning the engine on... I know I have the hoses in the right spot because they dont reach this leaking outlet... facing the engine its to the left of the 2 heater hose connectors on the firewall... is it an A/c evaporator outlet? why would it be leaking... i have a haynes repair manual but have no idea what this is... help?

ps..2.5 tbi fwdHeater core issues on my 88 grand am.?
The heater core in the dash has plastic couplers that attach the pipes to the core. when the hoses were bypassed i'm sure it was from the core leaking then... the factory core is very prone to leaking. however you are in luck that is a fairly east core to replace. just a 7mm socket and a 1/4" ratchet and you are in business pill the lower pan on the bottom side of the passenger side of the dash. with the 7mm do not force the plastic you will break it if you do. on a scale of one to ten ten being hardest. this rates a 2. the hardest part is what you have already done the hoses.
Go to a mechanic.Heater core issues on my 88 grand am.?
That small piece of rubber hose is the condensate drain for the a/c-heater ductwork...a leaking heater core will also drain out through there. Time to replace the heater core.
call checker auto, or a real auto store and most of the time they can answers the queation, and a auto %26amp; salvage yard can help too....Heater core issues on my 88 grand am.?
you need a new heater core they can be a pain in the to put in so unless you have a chilton or other repair manual i would take it to a shop
your heater core has a leak replace the heater core the hook up the hoses
If it is your heater core, your front floorboard will be wet.
